Outdoor sport has been a central part of my life from a young age. Over the past 12 years, I have developed broad experience across sailing, powerboating, paddlesports, windsurfing, wingsurfing, mountaineering and outdoor education.
My experience ranges from coaching individuals and delivering multi-day expeditions to managing programmes and holding senior responsibilities as an RYA Centre Principal and Chief Instructor. This provides a practical understanding of activity delivery, instructor development, centre operations, safety management and the standards required to run high-quality outdoor programmes.
My qualifications include:RYA Senior Instructor (DI, ADI, KI and MHI)RYA Start Windsurfing InstructorRYA Wingsurfing InstructorRYA Advanced Powerboat CertificateRYA Yachtmaster Offshore — SailBASP First Aid CertificateUKCC Level 2 Canoe CoachUKCC Level 2 Kayak CoachBritish Canoeing Advanced Water Canoe EndorsementBritish Canoeing Moderate Water Kayak EndorsementBritish Canoeing 5 Star Canoe LeaderBritish Canoeing 4 Star Kayak LeaderGNAS Archery InstructorSummer Mountain LeaderBSUPA Level 2 InstructorDuke of Edinburgh’s Award Gold Expedition Assessor and Leader
Alongside my practical work, I have spent the past seven years serving as a Non-Executive Director of RYA Scotland, contributing to the governance and development of sailing and boating across Scotland.
My experience also extends to the inspection, repair and maintenance of boats and equipment used in outdoor activities. This combination of coaching, operational leadership, governance and practical knowledge allows Studio + Sea to support outdoor centres, organisations and individuals with safe, considered and engaging activity delivery.
